Fiona Pui-yee Foo

Fiona Pui-yee Foo has made her mark in the world as one of Hong Kong's finest artists. She started to perform on stage in concerts as solo pianist at the age of four and as percussionist at six. Fiona has also the accolade of being a pioneer of the 8-mallet grip.

Fiona has won many first prizes at a number of solo marimba competitions. She had live performances on various TV shows and radio broadcasts. She was also invited to perform as a marimba soloist for concertos with various orchestras.

Fiona graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance with Honours, and pursued her studies with Alan Cumberland, Lung Heung Wing and Yim Hok Man. She went on to obtain her Master's Degree in Music, with specialisation in Solo Marimba, and a Master's Degree in Chamber Music at LUCA School of Arts (Lemmensinstituut) in Leuven, Belgium under the guidance of world-renowned marimba virtuoso Ludwig Albert, both with Highest Distinction. Fiona's other qualifications include Recital Diploma (Associate) for Performance in Solo Piano and Percussion; Recital Diploma (Licentiate) for Percussion with Distinction and Recital Diploma for Performance with the highest level of Fellowship (FTCL) at Trinity College London.

Fiona is also the Artistic Director of the International Hong Kong Percussion Convention.
