Aleksey Shadrin

Aleksey Shadrin started playing cello at the age of 7 under professor Elena Schelkanovceva at the Kharkiv National University of Arts for gifted children. He continued his education with professor Leonid Gorokhov at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media and under Frans Helmerson at the Kronberg Academy.

He received the 1st Prize at the Lysenko International Music Competition in Kyiv (2012), the 3rd Prize at the Prague Spring International Music Competition (2018), and 4th Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels (2022).

Besides a career as a soloist, Shadrin has performed alongside Quatuor Ébène and with leading artists such as Tabea Zimmermann, Nicolas Altstaedt, Jeremy Menuhin, Lucas Debargue, Gil Shaham, Renaud Capuçon, Frank Braley, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden and Corina Belcea.
