Uram Kim

Uram Kim is a pianist who works as a soloist at many musical levels. He has performed at concerts of several different genres, and is also interested in other areas of music such as chamber music and Lied. He already demonstrated his talents as a composer at the age of 7 and has so far produced over fifty of his own compositions for various instrumentations and genres. He is also interested in modern music from the late 20th and 21st centuries.

Uram Kim won 1st prizes at numerous competitions. He also gave many concerts as a soloist and as a chamber musician in duos all the way up to quintets and with singers. He performed with violinist Elin Kolev and gave piano recitals in the "Culture under the Roof" concert series. Uram Kim was also engaged by SWR for various recordings and took part in the project "A Jazz Symphony" for 3 pianos and orchestra with the State Philharmonic of Rhineland-Palatinate (Rheinland-Pfalz) with fellow pianists Frank Dupree and Adrian Brendle. On the radio project "Beethoven with us" he played unknown piano works by Beethoven.

Uram Kim received his pianistic training at the Karlsruhe University of Music in the class of Prof. Sontraud Speidel. At the beginning of 2023, he completed his solo training in the piano soloist exam, and at the same time completed his master's degree in Lied composition with Prof. Hartmut Höll and Prof. Mitsuko Shirai. He received important impulses during masterclasses from Prof. Einar Steen Nökleberg, Prof. Dmitri Bashkirov, Prof. Alexander Braginsky, Prof. Markus Schirmer and Prof. Avedis Kouyoumdjian.

Uram Kim already has teaching experiences at universities. He worked as a tutor in both Prof. Sontraud Speidel's piano class and Prof. Hanno Müller Brachmann's singing class. He taught as a student lecturer at the Karlsruhe University of Music for ten semesters.
