About the artist

Improvisation has been a part of Michiel's musical experience from the early start. He studied at the conservatory with Vitaly Samoshko, followed several masterclasses and drew profound inspiration from Vitalij Margulis. Later, Michiel specialized himself in the golden age of the pianists. A playing style that is liberated and improvisational, featuring an expressive rubato and an intense, personal approach lie at the core of Michiel's musical identity today.
