Summer Festival Antwerp 2025
We are pleased to announce the 34th installment of our yearly Summer Festival, running from July 30 through August 8. The festival consists of:
- masterclasses for violin, cello, piano and harp
- workshop electro-acoustic music composition
- concerts by masterclass students and professors
- International Young Talent Music Competition
- International Harp Competition

- You may subscribe to a maximum of two masterclasses/workshops.
- A subscription to a masterclass/workshop is required if you wish to apply for one of the competitions.
- You may only subscribe to one competition.
- Masterclasses, workshops and competitions may be cancelled by us if there are insufficient applicants.

How to subscribe
To subscribe, you need to fill in the online subscription form at the bottom of this page and transfer the application fee(s) and course fee(s). You can find the required fees in the sections for the masterclasses and workshops, the International Young Talent Music Competition and the International Harp Competition. Make sure you have read, understood and accepted the relevant rules.
Masterclasses and workshops
Application fee: 75€
Course fee:
- harp: 925€ (full time only; includes harp rental)
- workshop electro-acoustic composition: 600€ (full time only)
- other masterclasses: 600€ (full time) or 300€ (half time) per professor
Notes
- You can subscribe to the masterclasses/workshops of up to two professors.
- All professors except Takashi Shimizu and Nicolas Dupont: July 30 through August 8
- Takashi Shimizu: July 30 through August 3
- Nicolas Dupont: August 1 through August 8

Accompanist
International Young Talent Music Competition
The International Young Talent Music Competition takes place on August 2, 2025 at 3:30pm. The jury is composed of the masterclass professors, Dirk Verelst (chairman) and Seungyun Jin (secretary).
Application fee: 125€
Rules
- Application is only possible if you simultaneously apply for at least one masterclass.
- If you apply for the International Young Talent Competition, you cannot apply for the International Harp Competition.
- The competition consists of two categories.
- Category A is for applicants under the age of 12 on the day the competition takes place.
- Category B is for applicants that are 12 or older on the day the competition takes place.
- The candidates are rated individually, not by instrument.
- The decision of the jury is final and cannot be disputed.

Category A:
Young Talent prize: 100€
Category B:
Special prize "Dimitri Musafia" for the best violinist: violin case
1st prize: 500€
2nd prize: 300€
3rd prize: 200€

Applicants in category A choose their own program (maximum duration 10 minutes).

International Harp Competition
The International Harp Competition takes place on August 7, 2025 at 9:30am. The jury consists of Charlie Choi-Lee Hung, Dirk Verelst (chairman) and Seungyun Jin (secretary).
Application fee: 125€
Rules
- Application is only possible if you simultaneously apply for at least one masterclass.
- If you apply for the International Harp Competition, you cannot apply for the International Young Talent Competition.
- There is no age restriction.
- The decision of the jury is final and cannot be disputed.
Awards
1st prize: 400€
2nd prize: 300€
3rd prize: 200€
Young Talent prize: 100€
Program
Candidates choose two pieces to play with a maximum combined duration of 15 minutes. They need to be of different styles and different time periods.

The form calculates the exact application fee(s) and course fee(s) to be tranferred based on your choices and displays them in the section "Total cost price" near the bottom. Note that transferring the application fee(s) is a requirement to be considered subscribed. The course fee(s) have to arrive before July 15, 2025.
The fees are not refunded, except when the masterclass(es) or competition to which you are subscribing cannot take place.
