About the artists
Trio Kaliko was born from a friendship between three musicians with a joint passion for chamber music.
Clarinetist Alba Mayorga Rodrigo received her degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with greatest distinction. She regularly works with orchestras such as the Brussels Philharmonic, the Opera Ballet Flanders and Opera Zuid. She has been a permanent member of the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides since 2023. As a chamber musician, she is a member of the Udana Wind Quintet, the ASSAI Wind Quintet and Trio Kaliko. Alba is keen on contemporary clarinet repertoire, but is also involved in the authentic execution of historic repertoire on historical instruments. She also holds teaching positions at the Kalleis music school in Waterloo and at the Instituto Cervantes in Brussels among others.
Nicolas Dupont studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, CNSM in Paris and the Royal Academy of Music in London. As a member of Kugoni Trio, Roeland Hendrikx Ensemble, Trio Kaliko, Duo Andaluza and Ensemble K, he created about 90 works in close collaboration with composers, and recorded for radio and television. His discography already includes 25 CDs. Since 2017, he has been performing as a soloist or with his colleagues in all corners of Europe and the Far East. Nicolas is concertmaster of the Ataneres Ensemble and the Flanders Festival Orchestra. Since 2021, he is teaching his violin class at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. He also writes articles for Arco and StradMagazine. Nicolas plays a Giuseppe Petrazzini violin, kindly provided by a sponsor.
Marco Mantovani graduated from the Conservatory of Mantova with highest distinction, after which he studied at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole in Florence. He received his Master in Piano Performance and his postgraduate degree with highest distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Marco has performed in numerous concert halls and at various festivals. In 2014 and 2015, he collaborated with Rai Radio 3 in a live lecture-concert dedicated to the Diabelli Variations by Beethoven. He also participated in a DVD-recording with the Mozarteum in Salzburg. As a chamber musician, he regularly performs with different musicians and is a member of "Aes Duo". He is also assistant-professor piano and accompanist of the clarinet class at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. His recording debut is dedicated to Schumann's piano music composed between 1836 and 1838.
